Paid $.68 for 9 tubes of CREST Toothpaste!

Instead of paying $2.79 a box, wouldn't you rather pay $.07 a box?  I would!  So the minute I saw that Fry's has Crest toothpaste on sale this week for $1, I checked my coupons and found $1 off and $.50 off coupons in my book!  Bingo!  I went to Fry's and used all 9 of my coupons and paid only tax for all these toothpastes...a total of $.68 at the register!!!

This is a great item to stockpile on!  I figure I have picked up about 30 boxes of toothpaste in the last couple of months.  Some I have given away to families that were in need and others I have stored in my bathroom cabinet so our family won't be in need.  My goal is to never pay for things like this again!

Funny Az Craigslist Ad - Desperate Husband (Victim of Extreme Couponing)

I came across this ad on Craigslist today.  A man in Fountain Hills is suffering from his wife's coupon habit.  Seems she is a bit extreme and has taken over his garage so he is having a yard sale and selling all the stuff!  LOL!

This is a good example of why Extreme Couponing isn't always the best way to go - there seems to be a lot of wasted items.  It's always best to keep things "decent and in order!"

Walgreen's Insider Coupon Information

Yesterday I got some new information about how to use the Register Rewards with your manufacturer coupons at Walgreens.  The register rewards are also considered "Manufacturer Coupons."  So, the register will only allow 1 mfg. coupon per item.  This created problems for me when I was trying to buy the $9.99 Proglide Razor with my coupon & register rewards.  The very nice cashier, informed me that the best way to get around this issue is to buy a pack of gum or something of little value and the system will allow the coupon to be applied to the purchase since instead of 1 item, I would then have 2.  So I found a $.39 cent pack of gum (chiclets) and was able to use my $4 register rewards and $3 coupon.  Whew!  It was confusing in the beginning but I think I have it now.

So just remember when using your register rewards along with a mfg coupon make sure you have 1 item per coupon.

Now I have chiclets to give away at Easter...lol!

Walgreen's Deals - week of April 17, 2011

There are some great deals this week @ Walgreen's.  My sister and I headed over there earlier today and not only picked up some great deals, but also gained some "insider information."

Here's what I bought:

  • Colgate Total Toothpaste is on sale 2/$6 - Register Rewards $4.  I used my $1.50 coup & .75 cent got a $4 register rewards.
  • Reach Toothbrush is on sale for $2.99 - Register Rewards $2.  I used my $1.00 coup and got a $2 register rewards.
  • Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor is on sale for $9.99 - Register Rewards $4.  I used my $3 coup and  got $4 register rewards
I started out with $5 of register rewards money from my last visit and I had the cashier ring me up under two separate orders (I paid for the razor separate) and I used my register rewards for each transaction.

So for my first transaction (toothpaste and toothbrush) I saved $10.73 and spent $2.42 total.
On my second transaction (razor) I saved $9.00 and spent $2.77.
I left the store with $4 in register rewards.  In other words, I really spent only $1.19 for all those items (I also bought 4 packs of chiclets as part of these orders....that's another story that I'll explain in my next post :-)

First Entry!

Excited to make my first entry in my new blog!  I created this blog because I really wanted one spot to list great Coupon deals & other ideas about saving money as well as a place to list baking & craft ideas!  Hope you find it helpful and interesting!!
